The API Spec Q2, 2nd Edition outlines the Quality Management System (QMS) requirements for service supply organizations operating within the petroleum and natural gas industries. This standard is specifically designed to cover the execution of services, including but not limited to:

• Well construction

• Well intervention

• Production operations

• Abandonment activities

• Repair, maintenance, and configuration of service-related products (SRP)

Organizations performing activities addressed under this specification, including those providing service-related products and outsourced services, must fully comply with the relevant requirements. No exclusions are permitted unless the service execution does not involve SRP. In such cases, exclusions must be clearly justified and documented without compromising the organization’s ability to meet customer and regulatory requirements.

• 5.7.4 – SRP Status

• 5.7.6 – Preservation of SRP
